In February 2019, Verifications.io experienced a data breach due to a publicly accessible MongoDB instance without a password, exposing numerous email addresses and personal attributes. The breach was discovered by Bob Diachenko and Vinny Troia, and the Verifications.io website went offline during the disclosure process.
